Who We Are

PDM Bridge LLC resulted from the consolidation of four fabrication facilities with histories dating back to the late 1800’s. Pitt-Des Moines, Inc. initiated the unification in 1994. This large, 110-year-old publicly traded company merged the steel fabrication facilities of Hartwig Manufacturing, located in Wausau, WI, and Phoenix Steel, located in Eau Claire, WI. In September of 1997, PDM Bridge acquired its third fabrication facility, Sheffield Steel, located in Palatka, FL. This final acquisition offered us the opportunity to utilize the inter-coastal waterways to transport finished product to our customers by barge directly from this facility. In 2010, PDM Bridge acquired Dynamic Structural Steel, bringing the latest state-of-the art fabrication technology to the organization.

PDM Bridge has grown to employ approximately 550 employees (250 at the Eau Claire facility, 100 at the Wausau facility, 150 at the Palatka facility, and 50 at the Proctor facility).

PDM Bridge is a steel fabricator capable of producing steel components for the largest and most complex bridge structures.
